Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Foreman specializing in Excavating, Earthwork, and Wet Utilities to lead and oversee construction projects from start to finish. This role requires a proactive leader who can coordinate crews, materials and equipment; manage safety protocols; interpret technical drawings; and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction management skills, extensive site experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional results in complex civil projects.
Duties
- Lead and supervise excavation, earthwork, and wet utility installation crews on active construction sites
- Coordinate project schedules using construction management software such as Procore to ensure timely completion
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide field operations effectively
- Manage safety compliance by enforcing OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards across all activities
- Oversee quality control measures, ensuring work meets project specifications and industry standards
- Collaborate with project managers on budgeting, procurement, and contract management
- Supervise daily operations, manage crews, assign tasks, monitor progress, and resolve onsite issues promptly
- Conduct site inspections safety regulations
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth workflow and communication
- Maintain detailed tracking and documentation of work progress: daily rates of completion, material usage, man hours, equipment usage, personnel issues, training, safety incidents, change orders, and project logs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site supervision with a focus on excavating, earthwork, and/or wet utilities projects
- 4-5 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators and loaders
- Strong knowledge of construction management software including Procore, Bluebeam Revu
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and federal safety regulations for heavy civil construction projects. Competent person Exavations and Competent Person Confined Space training is a plus.
- Excellent crew management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and resources in commercial or heavy civil construction settings
- Skilled in supervising safety practices while maintaining productivity on-site
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 60.0 per week
