We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team of tire service experts. This Lead Tire Technician position requires customer interaction, sales, and leadership, so the ideal candidate will possess not only the technical acumen but also the ability to deliver strong customer service. This is a full-time position and requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime is available from time to time. Our base pay rate starts from $21 per hour. Tips and bonuses can be earned for average earnings of $26-32 per hour. We love to promote internally and there are opportunities to grow beyond this wage range. Responsibilities
- Daily travel in the Kansas City metro area
- Effectively handle multiple priorities, communicate directly with the customer and meet deadlines
- Safely operate a variety of equipment including floor jacks, tire changing machines, wheel balancers, hand, and power tools
- Collect data, take notes and pictures on a job site and report back to the office
- Perform daily vehicle inspection of service vehicle and manage onboard inventory
- Help maintain the cleanliness of service vehicles, equipment, tools, and facilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be comfortable with extensive daily travel.
- Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of US driving experience
- Strength and endurance to repeatedly lift and carry upwards of 50 pounds. Must pass a physical and and drug test
- Ability to operate mobile applications on a company-supplied handheld device
- Excellent customer service and ability to problem solve and operate independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of methods and techniques in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
- Trade school training, TIA, ASE certification/s or ability to safely mount & balance tires a plus but we will train the right candidate
- Commercial medium and heavy-duty truck tire experience is a plus.
- Priority is given to veterans who were Junior Enlisted or Junior Non-Commissioned Officers
- Must have a clean criminal and driving record with less than 3 moving violations in the last three years. No DUIs or reckless driving citations
- The ability to pass a background check and drug test. No convictions for a felony, violent crime, or sexual offense within the last seven years
