Position Summary
As a Low-Temperature HVAC & Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems primarily for restaurants and food-service clients. This includes ice machines, reach-in coolers, walk-in coolers/freezers, and related refrigeration equipment.
This role also includes occasional residential HVAC service and repair work, requiring a well-rounded technician who is comfortable working across both commercial and residential environments. The ideal candidate is dependable, technically strong in low-temp refrigeration, customer-focused, and capable of working independently in the field.

Objectives
- Diagnose, service, and repair commercial low-temperature refrigeration systems
- Service and maintain ice machines, walk-in coolers/freezers, and reach-in units
- Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues
- Complete occasional residential HVAC service and repair calls
- Accurately document work performed, materials used, and system conditions
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a professional manner
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings and recommendations
- Represent Maricopa Air professionally at all job sites
Core CompetenciesTechnical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of low-temperature refrigeration systems
- Ability to diagnose refrigeration, electrical, airflow, and control issues
- Experience servicing ice machines, walk-ins, and reach-ins
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- EPA refrigerant handling knowledge and best practices

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration / low-temp systems preferred
- Experience with restaurant refrigeration equipment strongly preferred
- Residential HVAC service experience a plus
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal required)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift equipment, work in tight spaces, and perform physical job duties
