QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous custodial, housekeeping, or facilities cleaning experience preferred.

A valid driver's license is preferred for positions requiring travel between buildings.

JOB GOAL:
Maintain assigned school facilities in a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure condition to provide students, staff, and visitors with an environment that supports learning and daily operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, scrub, strip, wax, buff, and seal floors.

Vacuum carpets and rugs.
-
Clean, disinfect, and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, locker rooms, and other assigned areas.

Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
-
Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, glass, blinds, and other surfaces.
-
Replenish restroom and custodial supplies.
-
Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums, and other custodial equipment.

Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, activities, and special events.

Replace light bulbs and lighting tubes as assigned.
-
Perform emergency cleanup resulting from spills, accidents, illness, or vandalism.

Pick up litter and maintain sidewalks, entrances, and other exterior areas surrounding assigned facilities.

Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal, as assigned.

Lock and unlock buildings, gates, and doors, and assist with building security procedures.

Report maintenance, safety, and security concerns promptly.

Perform minor maintenance tasks appropriate to the position.

Assist with receiving, moving, and distributing supplies and equipment.
-
Maintain custodial equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
