Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to support the finance function during a period of strategic growth and organizational transition. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will play a key part in financial reporting, close activities, process improvement initiatives, and special projects. The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and can help prepare financial operations for future business objectives.

Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data.

Support executive leadership with financial analysis, reporting packages, cash flow reporting, and ad hoc projects.

Assist with financial due diligence requests, data gathering, and preparation of schedules for potential financing, audit, or transaction-related activities.

Analyze operating results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance.

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other key accounting areas.

Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes, reporting capabilities, and internal controls.

Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, tax advisors, and other third-party stakeholders.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.

Support ERP optimization, data cleanup initiatives, system conversions, or process documentation projects.

Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for board, investor, lender, or ownership reporting as needed.

Review financial records to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Assist with special projects related to operational efficiency, organizational restructuring, and strategic initiatives.

Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and cross-functional teams as needed.

Participate in projects involving working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reporting.

Help develop scalable accounting processes and documentation to support future growth and transaction readiness.
Required:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA license strongly preferred.

Experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.

Strong knowledge of month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting practices.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:

Background in public accounting or audit.

Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments.

Experience improving processes, implementing controls, or leading system enhancements.

Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with executive leadership.
