Secure Access Group (SAG), LLC is a certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) providing professional services and mission support to the United States Government. We are seeking a qualified Catholic Music Director to support the Catholic Chapel Program at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas.
This position is contingent upon Secure Access Group (SAG), LLC being awarded the federal government contract. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply early.
Position Summary
The Catholic Music Director serves as the principal musician for the Catholic Chapel Program by planning, coordinating, and providing musical leadership for all assigned Catholic worship services. The Music Director serves as the primary accompanist and cantor, directs the Catholic choir, coordinates liturgical music with the Catholic Chaplain, and supports the Chapel's religious program in accordance with Roman Catholic liturgical traditions and Air Force Chapel standards.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to:
- Be proficient in both piano and organ performance.
- Serve as the primary accompanist and cantor during Catholic Masses.
- Read and interpret sheet music proficiently.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgical music, traditions, and worship practices.
- Plan and coordinate music appropriate for the Liturgical Calendar, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Ordinary Time, Holy Days of Obligation, and special liturgical celebrations.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and direct volunteer choir members.
- Conduct choir rehearsals.
- Coordinate weekly with the Catholic Chaplain regarding music selections and worship planning.
- Demonstrate excellent vocal ability and congregational leadership.
- Possess working knowledge of microphones, sound systems, projectors, and basic audio/visual equipment.
- Be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conservative attire appropriate for worship services and office settings.
- Work effectively with Chaplains, volunteers, government personnel, and contractor staff within a pluralistic military environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess a college degree in Music OR have successfully completed college-level music coursework from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience serving as a Catholic Music Director, Organist, Cantor, or Choir Director.
- Experience supporting Catholic worship services within a military chapel.
- Experience using Planning Center or similar worship planning software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Provide musical leadership for all scheduled Catholic worship services.
- Serve as the primary organist, pianist, and cantor.
- Direct the Catholic choir and recruit volunteer choir members.
- Conduct weekly choir rehearsals.
- Coordinate weekly with the Catholic Chaplain.
- Select and prepare music appropriate for each liturgical celebration.
- Prepare worship aids, music, and presentation materials.
- Maintain choir schedules and music library.
- Maintain chapel musical instruments and equipment.
- Coordinate music support for Holy Days, special liturgies, funerals, memorial services, and other authorized chapel events as requested.
- Support the Catholic Religious Program in accordance with Air Force Chapel policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional music ministry environment.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Government contract requirements and Air Force Chapel policies.
Work Schedule
Approximately 7 hours per week
Sunday
Monday–Saturday
- Approximately 4 additional flexible hours for planning, rehearsals, music preparation, and coordination.
Current rehearsal schedule may vary based on the Chapel's needs and the selected candidate's availability.
Background Investigation & Installation Access
The selected candidate must:
- Successfully complete all Government-required background screening.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain access to Goodfellow Air Force Base.
- Comply with all Department of Defense, Air Force, and installation security requirements applicable to contractor personnel.
- Successfully complete all installation access requirements before performing work.

Important Notice
This position is contingent upon Secure Access Group (SAG), LLC being awarded the federal government contract. Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
