This position is located on the RCFE Units at the Veterans Home of California- Fresno and is responsible for the overall management and supervision of an organized nursing unit(s); is responsible for the nursing care and practices of an organized nursing unit(s) and facility, for the Veterans Home of Fresno; plans, implements, evaluates, and provides for continuity of client/patient care; works with other disciplines to integrate nursing services with the total treatment program; teaches, plans for, directs, coordinates, and evaluates nursing personnel.

This is a 12-month Limited Term position. The Limited Term may be extended for up to 24 months.

Working overtime may be a requirement of this position. Schedule may vary depending on Facility needs.

Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) a(n) Valid California RN License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.

Veterans may qualify for a CalVet Veterans Hiring Preference. Military service must be included in the Employment History section of the Employment Applications (STD. 678). The application package must include documentation of discharge, appropriate to the branch of service. The documentation must reflect a discharge/release under conditions other than dishonorable. If the candidate fails to include this information then the CalVet Veterans Hiring Preference shall not be granted in the recruitment.

Successful completion of a live scan and a pre-employment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.
