Responsibilities
- Transport fuel from truck to tanks at customer sites
- Maintain the highest level of customer service
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Willingness to occasionally accept out of town or weekend assignments
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions; obtain receipts and signatures for delivered goods
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent
Skills
- Minimum 5 years of proven work experience as a tanker driver, fuel delivery experience REQUIRED
- Valid CDL Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and climbing in and out of truck regularly
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Acceptable motor vehicle record (5 years)
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check if a job offer is received and accepted
- Must possess or be able to obtain TWIC (if needed, company paid upon hire)
- No DUI/DWI within the previous ten years and no more than one in a lifetime
