We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead our upcoming K-12 renovation project beginning May 2026.
Position Overview
The Construction Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site leader responsible for the day-to-day field operations of a general construction renovation project. This individual will coordinate all subcontractors, manage project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth within the company.
Duties
- Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities for the DISD renovation project from mobilization through project closeout
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise all subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents, plans, and specifications
- Maintain and update the project schedule on a daily and weekly basis, identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts proactively
- Conduct daily site walks and maintain detailed daily logs documenting work progress, manpower, weather conditions, and any site issues
- Enforce strict compliance with all OSHA safety regulations, company safety policies, and owner/district safety requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations and the project management team
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFIs to ensure accurate field execution
- Manage the submittal and material delivery process to prevent schedule impacts
- Coordinate and facilitate owner walkthroughs, inspections, and punch list completion
- Identify and communicate scope gaps, potential change orders, and site conditions to the Project Manager in a timely manner
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with applicable building codes and DISD requirements
- Foster positive relationships with the owner, design team, subcontractors, and inspectors
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial general construction or renovation projects
- Prior experience on K-12 public school or institutional projects strongly preferred
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on schedule and within budget
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and OSHA regulations
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain prior to project start)
- Valid driver's license required
- Experience working with public owners and understanding of public contract requirements a plus
Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
