Job Summary
We are looking for a Lead Cook to join our amazing team at Miami Cerebral Palsy Residential Services, Inc.
The Lead Cook is responsible for provision of high-quality meal service, compliance with menus, policies, procedures, and regulations in the safe handling of foods and utensils. Provides positive leadership for staff on shift.
Key duties include following recipes, monitoring food temperatures, managing inventory, and collaborating with dietitian to ensure patient nutritional needs are met. The role requires a strong understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare and kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning to ensure a variety of nutritious and appealing options.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation in a healthcare institution (1 year minimum).
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets.
- Supervisory experience or the potential to acquire skills.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and follow menus.
- Able to use industrial kitchen equipment.
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
