Position Summary:
As an Assistant Manager at IHOP, you are a key leader in the restaurant and an essential partner to the General Manager. You help drive shift performance, develop team members, and ensure the operation runs at a high level every day. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about leadership, thrives in a full-service environment, and is ready to grow into broader restaurant management responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Leadership: Lead daily restaurant operations across assigned shifts and support overall restaurant performance. Ensure execution of brand standards, food quality, cleanliness, hospitality, and service expectations. Support strong shift execution across all dayparts with urgency, discipline, and care.
- Team Development: Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable to performance and behavior expectations. Support recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training, and retention efforts. Help build a strong bench of future leaders through consistent feedback, recognition, and development.
- Business Performance: Support labor management, food cost discipline, waste reduction, and expense control. Execute company initiatives and sales-driving activities. Monitor daily operating results and respond quickly to guest, team, and business needs.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to labor laws, food safety standards, safety procedures, cash handling requirements, and company policies. Maintain documentation and reporting accuracy. Support a positive, inclusive, respectful, and high-performance environment.

- Accountability for operational execution and standards
- Demonstrated leadership capability across multiple shifts or teams
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking for extended periods, typically 8 to 12 hours per shift.
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to work across dining room, kitchen, storage, and service areas.
- Exposure to high-temperature kitchen environments, wet floors, noise, and fast-paced conditions.

Work Environment:
Fun, fast-paced, and rewarding full-service restaurant environment with strong leadership expectations. Requires regular interaction with guests, team members, vendors, and restaurant leadership. Nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours may be required based on business needs.

The pay range for this position varies by state and experience. Base hourly rate plus tips. Tips are paid daily. Employees are guaranteed to earn at least the applicable state minimum wage.
