Pelton and Balducci, LLC is looking for an immigration paralegal to add to our team. Located in New Orleans’ Central Business District, our firm handles family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian immigration cases, along with deportation defense. Our clients come from every continent (Antarctica excluded!).
A strong candidate must be enthusiastic, hard-working, dependable, punctual, professional, and detail-oriented. They must also be able to handle multiple responsibilities at once and have excellent communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable working in both English and Spanish. Further, it is crucial that candidates be comfortable working as a team.
Prior experience as an immigration paralegal is strongly preferred, but we may consider training the right person.

Duties
· Working directly with clients to complete immigration applications and compile supporting material
· Active case management to ensure that clients progress with their cases and that deadlines are met
· Drafting declarations with clients in English and in Spanish
· Corresponding with clients on case developments/requirements in conformity to attorney instruction
· Preparing filings for USCIS and the Immigration Court
· Revising all material per the comments received in our two-attorney review process
· Communicating with entities like USCIS, the Immigration Court, police departments, and clerks of court to request documents or information
· Occasionally communicating account information to clients
· Other tasks as the need arise
