We are seeking an experienced/proven full-time Orthodontic Clinical Assistant who is looking for their long term work home. Qualified candidates will be compensated at an industry leading level of $24-$30/hour.
Job Description:
The Ideal candidate is focused on clinical precision/attention to detail, enjoy working on tasks requiring manual dexterity, be able to multi-task, have excellent communication skills, as well as, great relationship building skills. This position requires you to work together with our doctor to execute patient treatment.
Requirements include a positive attitude and driven work ethic, an A+ personality, and the ability to adapt to change and growth. Dental/Orthodontic clinical experience is required, but additional on-site training will be provided. The Clinical Assistant’s specific primary and secondary duties include the following:
· Directly assist the orthodontist during the placement, adjustment, and removal of braces, aligners, and retainers.
· Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing out archwires, elastic bands, coil springs, and ligature ties
· Prepare, organize, and apply bonding materials, adhesives, and impression materials
· Imaging and Diagnostics: Capture intraoral scans, dental impressions, clinical photographs, and X-rays to track treatment progress
· Laboratory Duties: Pour plaster casts, trim dental models, and fabricate custom retainers
· Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene, how to brush around brackets, dietary restrictions, and managing minor appliance emergencies at home
· Clinical Setup & Sterilization: Maintain cross-infection control by sterilizing instruments and preparing treatment rooms between patients
· Administrative Tasks: Update patient records, manage inventory levels, schedule appointments, and process payments
· Answer the telephone – if all front office staff is busy
