DMX Feeders of Loup City Nebraska is in search of a feedlot pen rider. This job includes but not limited to riding through pens looking for sick cattle, doctoring sick cattle, returning cattle to original pens, shipping and receiving, processing cattle, operating equipment, etc.
Schedule and wage:
· Quick pay increase depending on experience
· Weekdays 7am to 5:30pm and every other weekend 7am to 12pm
· Time off is granted when needed (not paid)

Required Qualifications:
· Advanced horsemanship
· The ability to identify sick or injured cattle
· Good record keeping of doctored and moved cattle
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cattle Health Monitoring – Ride through pens to identify sick, injured or distressed cattle by observing signs.
Doctoring/ Treating – Pull sick cattle and drive them to processing area, administer medications based on sickness or injury and severity following our veterinary protocols.
Processing – Administering vaccines, implants, tagging, etc. to new lots.
Cattle Movement – Sorting, shipping/ receiving, moving pens, and returning recovered cattle back to home pens. On foot or horseback.
Horse Care – Caring for your horses or our horses. Feeding, grooming, keeping tack and saddling area clean and organized. Informing us about any lameness, injury or illness that needs to be addressed immediately.
Other Duties:
Yard Repairs/ Maintenance – Scraping pens, cleaning water tanks, fixing fence, welding, equipment maintenance and more.
Benefits:
Full care of up to 3 personal horses- all feed, farrier expenses, deworming, and most veterinary expenses will be taken care of. We want your horses to look good and feel good when working for DMX Feeders.
Horses Provided – We have 2 mares that are at the feedlot full time for anyone that needs them. They are safe and know their job.
Housing – We have a 2-bedroom, one bathroom house rented in Loup City only 2 miles from the feedlot.
Aflac Policy- DMX Feeders pays $50 a month into an Aflac policy of your choosing. Which covers the majority if not all the expense of the insurance.
Annual Bonuses – Quarter beef per year, Christmas bonus
