Description:
BASIC PURPOSE:
The Environmental Services Floor Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all floors (carpets, vinyl, tile, lament and concrete).
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:

Clean all carpet in facility.

Remove stains from floors.
-
Maintain a safe environment at all times.
-
Buffs and spray waxes floors.
-
Mops floors.
-
Cleans cove base.
-
Minor repair to equipment.
-
Keep equipment clean.
-
Moves furniture.
-
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Environment Services Supervisor.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Floor care knowledge desirable.

Knowledge of chemicals and their uses.
-
Knowledge of OSHA codes.
-
Skilled in buffing, stripping and waxing.
-
Must be able to read and write.
-
Must be able to use buffer, mops, brooms, carpet cleaning machine, power washer, some hand tools and wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

Knowledge in safety and resident safety.

Knowledge of hazardous materials related to job.

Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling and bending are required at all times.

Constant standing and walking while controlling machines.
-
Ability to work varying shifts.
-
Possess the ability to self-manage time and take direction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure/ Certification:
none required
Experience:
Floor care knowledge desirable.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
