QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in special education and/or general education with special education certification or background/experience (master’s preferred)
Valid Alabama Teacher Certification
Minimum 10 years’ experience in special education
Experience as a Lead Special Education Teacher (preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and has exceptional project management and data analysis skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
Thorough knowledge of current trends and developments in special education
Strong understanding of federal and state special education rules, regulations, and practices
Ability to effectively allocate and prioritize time to several tasks to ensure completion of all.
Employment experience gained in the private employment sector may be considered when filling specified positions, which are not traditionally in the education field, but include specialized training or certifications.
