We are looking for a licensed Paramedic or higher level to lead a team of Hired EMT's and volunteer EMT's attending to out-of-hospital medical incidents in a Frontier setting. Powder River EMS is currently a ALS County owned ambulance service that is seeking someone with excellent people and leadership skills. We are looking for someone willing to help train and promote existing staff to provide more advance emergency care to our rural county. The ambulance service is based in Broadus, MT which is in the heart of Powder River County. The closest emergency care facility is 80 miles away, which amplifies the importance of moving to a more advanced level of care and we need your help. The County has Invested a lot into the service you can expect to have access to Ambulances that are newer and in great operating Condition along with many upgrades to new equipment. Broadus is located in Rural Southeastern Montana and offers a lot when it comes to a Frontier community. The Community offers an Excellent School System, Safe neighborhoods, making it an excellent location to raise a family. World class hunting and outdoor recreation, other recreational opportunities include a seasonal swimming pool, golf course, bowling alley, rodeo arena, parks and walking trails. Local Amenities include Grocery Store/Pharmacy, restaurants, family medical clinic, nursing home, hardware stores, Bowling Alley etc.
Responsibility Summary
- Operate ambulance equipment and respond to radio transmissions
- Lead and coordinate the team responding to an emergency
- Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform preliminary diagnosis
- Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of pre-hospital simple and advanced treatments (first aid, CPR, administering injections and oxygen etc.) or surgical procedures
- Use tech equipment and tools to stabilize patients or provide immediate treatment
- Monitor patient’s condition en route to the hospital
- Collaborate with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors etc.)
- Write and submit concrete and accurate reports on incidents
- Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards
- Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training
- Aid in Training other EMTs to increase level of care provided.
- Manage all liscenses and inpections required
- Conduct inventory management
Skills
- Proven experience as a Paramedic
- Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology and medications
- Ability to stay calm and make the right decisions in adverse conditions

- Ability to work well with others and cooperate with other agencies.
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma; Licensed Paramedic

Pay: $27.50 - $32.00 per hour
