About the Position
Missy Liu’s Pet Grooming is seeking an experienced, dependable Pet Stylist to join our professional grooming team in Farmington and Prairie Grove.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing safe, high-quality grooms while treating every pet with patience, kindness, and respect. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, communicating professionally with clients, and contributing to a clean, positive, team-oriented workplace.
This is an established salon with existing clientele. You will not be expected to bring your own client list.
Responsibilities
- Perform full-service dog grooming, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, and styling
- Complete breed-standard and client-requested haircuts
- Trim nails and provide routine ear and coat care
- Evaluate each pet’s coat, skin, behavior, and overall condition before and during grooming
- Handle pets safely, patiently, and compassionately
- Discuss grooming needs and recommendations with clients
- Maintain accurate grooming notes and client instructions
- Keep your grooming station, tools, equipment, and shared work areas clean and sanitized
- Follow salon safety, sanitation, scheduling, and animal-handling procedures
- Communicate promptly about health, behavior, timing, or service concerns
- Work cooperatively with bathers, reception staff, and other groomers
Qualifications
- Professional dog-grooming experience required
- Ability to complete full grooms independently and within reasonable appointment times
- Knowledge of different coat types, grooming techniques, and common breed styles
- Strong scissoring and clipper skills
- Calm, confident, and humane animal-handling skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Professional appearance and client-service skills
- Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and work as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or assist dogs of varying sizes
- Willingness to work some Saturdays based on salon needs
Applicants may be asked to provide photographs of recent grooming work and complete a paid working interview to demonstrate grooming and animal-handling skills.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
