About the Role
We're hiring a working Cleaning Supervisor for an overnight sanitation crew at a busy food production facility. This is a hands-on role. You'll perform your own cleaning duties each shift alongside a team of contracted cleaners, and you'll step in to cover areas as needed. You represent GSE on-site. You provide real-time oversight to make sure work is done correctly and to GSE's standards, and you confirm the site is exactly as it needs to be by the end of each shift. The site is wet and has strong odors. You'll wear PPE for the full shift, including a cleanroom suit, eye protection, and ear protection as needed. Experience in food production or food manufacturing cleaning is required. This is not a general cleaning role.
What You'll Do
You'll clean assigned areas each shift as part of the crew, not just direct others. You'll work alongside contracted cleaners and cover other areas if and when needed. You'll check the site at the end of each shift and confirm everything meets requirements before handoff. You'll follow food safety and sanitation protocols specific to a food production facility. You'll wear required PPE at all times, including a cleanroom suit, eye protection, and ear protection. You'll flag issues, delays, or safety concerns to GSE management right away. You'll keep accurate records of completed tasks and any incidents.
What You Need
You need prior hands-on experience in food production or food manufacturing cleaning or sanitation. You need to be comfortable working in a wet, high-odor industrial environment for full shifts. You need to wear full PPE, including a cleanroom suit, eye protection, and ear protection, throughout the shift. You need to work well alongside a team and take initiative without needing direct authority to get things done right. You need reliable overnight availability, Monday through Friday. You need to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
Preferred
Experience with food safety standards such as HACCP or GMP is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
