American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Work in the Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
-
12-hour night shifts from 6:00pm to 6:30am, 3 days per week (36 hours weekly)
-
Weekend shifts required as needed
-
Holiday shifts required as needed

Uses Epic charting system
-
Performs procedures including central line insertion, chest tube management, TPN administration, thrombolytic therapy, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
-
Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience

ASN required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Level 1 Trauma experience required
-
Skilled in peripheral and central line IV access, IM/SQ injections, and PCA machine operation
-
Strong critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
-
Perform comprehensive nursing care including patient assessments, care planning, and documentation
-
Deliver bedside shift report and maintain patient communication boards for continuity of care
-
Delegate and validate care tasks assigned to healthcare care technicians
-
Respond to emergency situations as an effective team member
-
Focus on patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precaution compliance
-
Promote patient satisfaction through hourly rounding and bedside reporting practices
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered

RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
-
Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
