Superintendent (Commercial/Industrial Construction)
Location: Field-Based – Los Angeles & Orange Counties

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year + bonus potential (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial/Industrial Construction Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day field operations of commercial construction projects throughout Southern California.
The ideal candidate will have 5–10+ years of Superintendent experience within commercial and/or industrial construction and a strong background in tenant improvements (TI), white box/market-ready projects, office, warehouse, industrial, retail, and commercial renovations.
We are looking for a hands-on field leader who can take ownership of a job site, effectively manage subcontractors and schedules, maintain high standards for quality and safety, and work closely with Project Managers to deliver projects on time and to client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all day-to-day field operations for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Take ownership of projects in the field from mobilization and project startup through punch list, turnover, and final completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and other on-site activities.
- Develop, maintain, and execute project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Conduct daily site walks and closely monitor construction progress, workmanship, productivity, and schedule.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Ensure subcontractors are completing work according to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Identify potential field conflicts, constructability issues, scheduling concerns, and project delays before they impact the job.
- Coordinate RFIs, field changes, inspections, material deliveries, and subcontractor requirements with the Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, photos, and other required project records.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate upcoming schedules and project expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe job site.
- Enforce company safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards.
- Coordinate required inspections and work with local building departments and inspectors as necessary.
- Manage project punch lists and ensure outstanding items are completed quickly and correctly.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, Project Managers, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, property managers, building owners, and project partners.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Strong preference for candidates coming from a commercial General Contractor environment.
- Experience managing tenant improvements (TI), white box/market-ready projects, office, industrial, warehouse, retail, and/or commercial renovations.
- Proven ability to independently run commercial construction projects in the field.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, inspections, quality-control procedures, and construction safety requirements.
- Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors while maintaining aggressive project schedules.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate field issues and develop solutions quickly.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Strong client-facing skills and the ability to professionally represent the company on active job sites.
- Must be comfortable working throughout the company's Southern California project territory.
Technology & Construction Software
Candidates should be comfortable working with modern construction technology and electronic project documentation.
Experience with the following is strongly preferred:
- Procore
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Project
- Google Sheets / Google Workspace
- Electronic plans, drawings, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and daily reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both commercial tenant improvements and industrial projects.
- Experience working on occupied renovations and fast-paced TI projects.
- Experience with market-ready/white box construction.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Experience assisting with estimating, takeoffs, constructability reviews, or preconstruction is a plus.
