We are looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Center Coordinator & Tutor. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students, communicating with families, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy learning center.
Position Summary
As the Center Coordinator & Tutor, you will play a key role in the evening operation of our learning center. You'll welcome students and families, assist with scheduling, support tutors, tutor students when needed, and help maintain an organized and positive learning environment.
This position combines customer service, tutoring, administrative support, and family outreach.
Responsibilities
Student Support
- Tutor elementary and middle school students in reading, writing, and/or math as needed
- Encourage students and help create a positive learning environment
- Communicate student progress or concerns to the Center Director
Front Desk & Customer Service
- Greet students and families professionally
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries
- Assist families with scheduling and general questions
- Provide excellent customer service to all visitors
Center Operations
- Monitor daily tutoring schedules
- Ensure tutors and students arrive on time
- Track student and tutor attendance
- Coordinate schedule changes with families and staff
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional center environment
Outreach & Family Communication
- Make outbound calls to:
- Families who attended an academic conference but have not yet enrolled
- Former students who may benefit from additional tutoring
- Families who previously inquired about our services
- Current families regarding scheduling opportunities and program updates
- Document conversations and follow-up activities
Attendance & Scheduling
- Confirm upcoming appointments with families
- Contact families regarding absences or late arrivals
- Assist in filling cancelled tutoring appointments whenever possible
- Help maintain accurate attendance records
Administrative Support
- Maintain student records and documentation
- Update information in the center management system
- Assist the Center Director with administrative and operational tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of student and family information
Marketing Support
- Request Google reviews from satisfied families
- Assist with community outreach and local marketing initiatives
- Support special events, open houses, and parent information sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with children or teenagers preferred
- Tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Professional phone etiquette
- Comfortable making outbound phone calls
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
