PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF POSITION: Provide general janitorial services for agency-owned facilities, grounds, and equipment. Perform light maintenance and repair work at agency-owned facilities. Retain and coordinate professional assistance for maintenance and repairs when needed. The Janitorial Maintenance Technician position is essential for ensuring the functionality, safety, and longevity of the residential facility for clients, staff, and volunteers.
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Responsible for all areas of facilities janitorial services in shelter facility to include client bedrooms when not inhabited.
- Proactively perform facilities interior and exterior janitorial services as outlined in the Housekeeping/Maintenance Manual.
- Light Maintenance (light bulbs, AC filters, doorknobs, other minor repair duties)
- Maintain communication, priorities, and relationships with agency vendors providing maintenance services.
- Monitor maintenance and facility needs and priorities in collaboration with the Residential Services Manager.
- Ensure that appropriate records are maintained for reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation of administrative documents and reports as requested/required by supervisor.
- Perform other activities as assigned by supervisor.
· Attend all meetings and training as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain professional conduct and represent the Agency in a professional manner.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
QUALIFICATIONS: Janitorialexperience highly preferred; maintenance experience preferred such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and routine building repair, basic computer skills; ability to follow routine checklist; good oral and written communication skills; flexible and able to manage multiple priorities concurrently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines; non-traditional hours to include some evening and weekend hours possible; some travel requiring a valid driver’s license and a personal, insured vehicle for use on the job required.
