Opening in 1973, Scittino’s Italian Marketplace has been serving the Baltimore community for over 50 years. We pride ourselves on our quality of food and our customer service. We offer a variety of imported meats and cheeses, prepared foods in our deli department, and authentic New York Style pizza. As we have expanded to our new Falls Rd. location, we have added a full-service bar and restaurant. We are seeking professional crew members who are enthusiastic and energetic. We're looking for individuals who are responsible, dedicated to customer service, and have a true passion for food and service. We have an immediate need for an experienced Line Cook.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Set up and stock assigned stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner during service periods
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Follow all food safety and health department regulations
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries
- Communicate effectively with chefs, managers, and fellow kitchen staff
- Willingness and ability to cross-train on multiple stations (deli, pizza, grill, fryer)
- Work collaboratively to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant- deli/pizza experience is a plus!
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Organizational skills
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment are essential
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Follows directions and instructions
