Key Qualifications:
- Current Alaska teaching license with all required endorsements, or in the process of obtaining licensure (Type C certification required; provide proof or certification numbers)
- Demonstrated expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education settings
- Ability to support a wide range of grade levels, adapting instruction for elementary through high school students
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to working onsite—no remote/virtual positions available
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction, accommodations, and coaching for DHH students across varied grade levels
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs
- Consult with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student inclusion and achievement
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
- Provide advocacy, language access, and skill development for DHH students
