Buyers Products company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for a Truck Driver to complement the skills and talents of our Logistics Department.
Primary Job Duties:
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land in an 18 Wheel Tractor Trailer (53’ foot vans and flatbeds) to and from manufacturing plants and warehouse
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
Skills/ Experience:
- Excellent Attendance and Punctuality required.
- Ability to perform minor repairs as needed (hoses, air-lines, other).
- Familiar with Pre-Trip inspections and Basic Safety and Mechanical knowledge of vehicles
- Have good decision making skills
- Must have clean driving record
- Ability to lift to 70 pounds consistently
- Ability to Hook up to, Lock and Switch Trailers up to 40 times per day
- Must meet all Medical and Physical DOT requirements
Education Background:
- Must have active Class “A” CDL Driver’s License
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Mobility and dexterity to move within and around truck and trailer
- Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time and engage in some repetitive movements
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination
