We are seeking a detail-oriented Digital Pathology Scanner Technician to join our evening operations team. This role is responsible for digitizing pathology slides, ensuring image quality, and preparing cases for pathologists so they are available for review the following day.

Position Summary
The Digital Pathology Scanner Technician is responsible for scanning glass pathology slides into GoPath's Image Management System (IMS), verifying image quality, and ensuring all slides are accurately associated with the correct patient case. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient laboratory workflow and supporting timely patient diagnoses.
This is a second shift position 12:30 pm - 9pm
Essential Responsibilities
- Inspect pathology slides for cleanliness, labeling accuracy, and overall scan readiness.
- Return damaged, mislabeled, or unacceptable slides to the laboratory for correction before scanning.
- Operate KFB digital pathology scanners using KScanner software.
- Load slide racks, monitor scanner operation, and complete scanning efficiently.
- Verify that scanned images upload successfully into the Image Management System (IMS).
- Ensure every digital image is correctly matched to the appropriate patient case.
- Perform quality checks to identify blurred, incomplete, or artifact-containing images and rescan when necessary.
- Review and resolve pending items in the IMS Workbench, including failed uploads, unmatched slides, and labeling discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate scan logs and communicate shift status to the next team member.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for scanner and software issues and escalate technical problems when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following laboratory quality and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working with Windows-based computer systems and software.
- Ability to learn new technology and laboratory software quickly.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and the ability to work a consistent evening schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative laboratory team.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a laboratory, histology, pathology, healthcare, or specimen-handling environment.
- Familiarity with pathology workflows or laboratory information systems (LIS/IMS).
- Experience working with imaging equipment or quality control processes.
- Students pursuing degrees in biology, medical laboratory science, healthcare, or related scientific fields are encouraged to apply.
