Finishing Machine Operator- 2nd Shift

Hours of work: 2nd Shift- 1:00pm until 11:00pm Monday through Thursday (3 day weekends!)
Wage: $18.00+ Per/Hour, based on experience
Status: Full Time, Hourly
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a Rewind machine. This involves feeding material from a master roll into a machine that will measure the appropriate lengths required for a new roll.
- Reads and follows instructions on the job ticket.
- Inspect materials and products for defects, and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of the Orion Standard Sanitation Operations and GMPs: Perform assigned SSOPs & Perform daily pre-operational inspections
- When defects are found, remove the defected material and splice the roll back together per job instructions.
- Make consistent, routine checks for material quality.
- Ensure that rolls of materials are wound to the specified lengths.
- Record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed.
- Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
Skills/Abilities:
- Organized and detailed oriented.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with team members.
- Must be able to complete basic mathematical operations: subtractions, addition, multiplication, and division to ensure accurate label counts.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50lbs. Ability to lift 20lbs repetitively.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and capability to work with strobe lights.
