General Skills/Requirements

· Must have clean background and be able to obtain base pass access to USAF military base.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and solve field problems
· Ability to read and interpret plumbing and mechanical construction drawings, specifications, details, schedules, and equipment installation requirements
· Ability to perform accurate plumbing layout, measurement, cutting, fitting, joining, and installation
· Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team while maintaining professional relationships with clients, contractors, and coworkers
· Physically able to navigate and work safely in an active commercial/industrial construction environment, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, working in confined spaces, and working at elevations as required
· Ability to safely and effectively use common plumbing tools, power tools, testing equipment, and related equipment
· Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial plumbing systems, materials, fixtures, valves, piping, and equipment
· Welding, brazing, soldering, and/or other pipe joining experience is a plus; applicable welding or brazing certifications are a plus
· Strong commitment to quality, workmanship, jobsite safety, and compliance with applicable plumbing codes and project requirements
· Must pass drug screening and background check as required by company policy and/or project requirements
Job Responsibilities
· Install, assemble, maintain, repair, and modify commercial, industrial, and institutional plumbing systems
· Lay out and install domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, compressed air, and other plumbing systems in accordance with construction drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements
· Measure, cut, ream, thread, groove, fit, solder, braze, press, and otherwise join piping and related components using appropriate tools and approved installation methods
· Install and connect plumbing fixtures, valves, backflow preventers, pumps, water heaters, boilers, tanks, expansion tanks, piping specialties, and other plumbing equipment
· Install piping systems using materials such as copper, cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, CPVC, PEX, HDPE, and other approved piping materials as project conditions require
· Perform rough-in and finish plumbing work, including fixture installation and final connections
· Perform pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, cleaning, and other required testing of plumbing systems
· Perform or assist with brazing, soldering, welding, or other approved joining methods when qualified and required by the project
· Identify field conditions that may affect installation and communicate potential conflicts, deficiencies, or required changes to the foreman or project management
· Maintain accurate measurements, material usage, and documentation as required for project completion
· Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools, equipment, and materials
· Follow all company, customer, OSHA, plumbing code, and project-specific safety requirements and participate in required safety meetings and training
· Perform quality-control checks of completed work to ensure proper installation, slope, support, alignment, connections, and workmanship
· Work cooperatively with other trades and project personnel to coordinate work and maintain project schedules
· Typical jobsite work hours may vary based on project requirements and may include early morning starts, overtime, or occasional weekend work
Experience/Education
· Journeyman-level experience in commercial, industrial, institutional, or other mechanical plumbing construction preferred
· Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on trade experience preferred
· Equivalent non-union trade experience demonstrating journeyman-level plumbing skills will be considered
· Union membership is not required; applicants should possess the skills, knowledge, training, and experience normally associated with a qualified journeyman plumber
· Current plumbing license or certification, where required by applicable jurisdiction or project requirements, is preferred
· Current welding, brazing, backflow prevention, medical gas, or other applicable specialty certifications are a plus
· OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant safety certifications are a plus; training may be provided by Kroeschell as required
Pay: $60.00 per hour
