Medical Assistant - Allergy Clinic
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with allergy experience to join a busy and growing allergy specialty practice in Plano.
Schedule
- Monday, Tuesday, and Friday Hours will increase soon!
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- 1-hour lunch break
Required Qualifications
✅ Minimum of 2 years of Allergy Medical Assistant experience
✅ Must have experience administering allergy injections (allergy shots)
✅ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment
✅ Strong patient education and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Document histories, medications, and allergies
- Prepare patients for provider examinations
- Perform allergy skin prick and intradermal testing
- Administer allergy immunotherapy injections
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions following injections
- Assist with emergency response for severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis
- Perform spirometry and pulmonary function testing
- Administer medications and injections
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and infection control standards
- Document patient encounters in the EHR
Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments, testing, and immunotherapy visits
- Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations
- Manage patient calls regarding treatments and allergy shot schedules
- Coordinate referrals and testing
- Maintain medical supplies and medications
Ideal Candidate
- Strong knowledge of allergies, asthma, and immunology
- Experience with allergy testing and immunotherapy
- Ability to recognize and respond to allergic emergencies
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Comfortable educating both pediatric and adult patients

- Allergy skin testing

- Nebulizer treatments
- EKGs/ECGs
