Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and dressing, promoting independence and self-care skills.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors, progress towards goals, and intervention outcomes accurately and consistently.
- Support the development and execution of individualized care plans and behavior management strategies tailored to each client’s needs as determined by supervising BCBA.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to monitor client progress, adjust interventions as needed, and ensure consistency across all care activities.
- Foster a positive, patient-centered environment that encourages learning, growth, and emotional well-being for clients.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children or individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to assist with ADLs while maintaining sensitivity and patience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance.
- Skilled in data collection methods for tracking behavioral progress and documenting care activities.
- Excellent teaching abilities combined with compassionate care to support learning and development.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, educators, therapists, and healthcare professionals.
