Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper/Laundry Worker to join our hospitality team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a pristine environment.
- Handle laundry operations efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and towels while adhering to proper chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other designated spaces by sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting floors using appropriate cleaning equipment.
- Manage the safe handling and usage of chemical agents in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment; operate janitorial equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary; report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest requests professionally and courteously while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial/industrial cleaning roles with a strong background in hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including carpet cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, and floor maintenance.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when moving furniture or large laundry loads; manual handling skills are essential.
- Familiarity with sanitation standards and janitorial practices; experience with chemical agent handling and use of cleaning equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols; ability to read safety data sheets (SDS).
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
