Residential Counselor - PM Shift (Full-Time)
Location: Santa Ana, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (four 10-hour shifts)
Available shift: Wednesday-Saturday, 12:00pm-10:00pm
Candidates must be available to work all four scheduled shifts each week on a regular and ongoing basis. Partial availability, rotating availability, or availability for only certain days will not meet the requirements of this position.

Mary's Path changes lives Two at a Time. We provide safe, trauma-informed housing and care for pregnant and parenting teenage girls in the foster care system, many of whom are survivors of abuse, neglect, or trafficking. Our mission is to break cycles of poverty and trauma and help young mothers reclaim their futures.
Position Summary
As a Residential Counselor, you will provide direct care, supervision, and support to resident mothers and their children. You will help maintain a safe, structured, and trauma-informed home environment while supporting residents with parenting, education, appointments, daily routines, and program expectations.
This position reports to the Residential Staff Manager and may also receive direction, coaching, and shift leadership from the Senior Residential Counselor or Residential Program Manager/STRTP Administrator.
Shift Structure
This is a full-time, hourly position scheduled for four 10-hour shifts each week.

- Wednesday-Saturday, 12:00pm-10:00pm

Key Responsibilities
General
- Maintain a professional attitude and model appropriate communication, appearance, and interactions for residents
- Attend required orientations, trainings, staff meetings, and annual training
- Complete at least 40 hours of required training annually
- Work collaboratively with other staff and programs to support organizational goals and resident needs
- Review staff communications before beginning each scheduled shift
- Participate in shift-transition meetings and review the supervision log
Resident and Child Supervision
- Oversee the safety and well-being of residents and their children during the assigned shift
- Conduct and document required resident checks
- Provide positive role modeling, guidance, encouragement, and behavioral support
- Assist residents with personal care, childcare, planned activities, appointments, transportation, and daily routines
- Apply approved behavior-management and emergency-intervention procedures in accordance with Pro-ACT principles
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect residents' personal rights
- Support resident compliance with house rules and program expectations
- Supervise onsite and offsite visits and complete required documentation
- Assist and supervise new mothers, including providing direct infant care when appropriate
- Ensure infants' and toddlers' needs are met, including feeding, diapering, and supervision
- Communicate resident and child progress, concerns, and identified needs to the Social Services Team
- Follow Community Care Licensing and Title 22 requirements, including requirements related to food preparation, medication, supervision, and documentation
- Complete required daily documentation, including communication logs, progress notes, supervision logs, incident reports, child abuse reports, and injury reports
- Follow procedures for onsite and offsite passes, medication transfers, transportation, and visit monitoring
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Residential Staff Manager, Residential Program Manager/STRTP Administrator, or CEO
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 21 years old
- Ability to work Wednesday-Saturday, 12:00pm-10:00pm, on a regular and ongoing basis
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately to changing situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, children, coworkers, and multidisciplinary team members
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and consistent accountability
- Ability to support residents through a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
- Due to the nature of the position and the population served, this position is limited to female applicants in accordance with applicable law
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of full-time experience in an STRTP, group home, residential treatment program, or residential substance-use program
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with trauma-informed care
- Familiarity with Pro-ACT principles

- Remain stationary for periods of time and position oneself to access supplies and equipment

- Frequently move through indoor and outdoor residential spaces
- Lift, carry, or transport up to 25 pounds
- Adjust mobility and positioning to provide care and supervision in different areas of the home
