Flexible working hours (part time - up to 30 hrs/week) based on your availability
What would you be doing?
-
Being a consistent face for the YMCA Masters Swim program
-
Being available for a majority of the Masters swim practices (M/W/F 12-1pm, T/W/TH 7:45-8:45pm, Sat 8-9am)
-
Leading by example - using your training to perform rescues in and around the pool
-
Assisting in preparation of the swim team area for workout
-
Assisting with appropriate stretching and warm-up/cool-down activities
-
Assisting with maintaining safety and discipline during workouts and meets
-
Assisting in responding to the individual needs of participants
-
Assisting in providing a variety of demonstration, explanation, and practice and skill correction during each workout
-
Assisting in effective communication with athletes/parents in a friendly manner and providing appropriate encouragement

Teaching swimming lessons according the YMCA Swim Lessons curriculum

Being a positive role model for youths and adults in your community

Upholding the YMCA Policies and Standards
Requirements:
- Must be 18 or older
-
Must have 2 years of experience in competitive swimming
-
Must have a minimum of current CPR/First Aid OR Lifeguard Certification
-
Maintains a current Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certification (or Lifeguard Certification)
-
Must possess YMCA of the USA Coaches Certification and USA Swimming Certification (or achieve within 30 days)
-
Must pass YMCA and USA Swimming background checks
