Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites for asphalt paving and roadwork projects.
Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar equipment to move materials and prepare surfaces.
Perform paving activities by spreading asphalt using power tools and manual techniques, ensuring quality standards are met.
Support traffic control efforts for work zones to ensure safety for workers and motorists alike.
Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins.
Maintain equipment by performing routine mechanical checks and basic repairs using hand tools; report any issues promptly.
Follow all safety protocols outlined by FMCSA regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
Assist with highway maintenance tasks such as patching, crack sealing, and surface repairs on roads.
Handle manual labor tasks including heavy lifting, material handling, and site cleanup to keep projects running smoothly.
Collaborate with team members on various construction site activities, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Experience
Previous experience working on construction sites or in civil infrastructure roles is highly preferred.
Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery is a strong plus.
Knowledge of road construction processes including paving techniques and highway maintenance practices.
Understanding of safety procedures
Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, welding, utility locating, and mechanical knowledge will enhance your effectiveness on the job.
Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions is required; ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and manual handling is necessary.
Construction or roadwork experience combined with a proactive attitude toward safety will set you apart as a candidate committed to excellence in civil infrastructure projects.
Pay: $19.00 - $29.00 per hour
