Position Summary
The Event Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing IUOE conventions, conferences, meetings, leadership summits, training events, and member engagement programs. This role manages all aspects of event logistics, staffing, vendor coordination, budgeting, leadership communications, and on-site operations to ensure successful events that support organizational objectives and member engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Project Management
· Lead planning and execution of labor union conventions and meetings.
· Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and schedules.
· Manage multiple events simultaneously and provide status updates.
Convention & Conference Operations
· Coordinate venue selection, contracts, lodging, AV, and food service.
· Manage registration, delegate credentialing, and attendee communications.
· Support governance activities and compliance requirements.
Financial Management
· Develop and manage budgets.
· Negotiate vendor contracts and reconcile event expenses.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
· Coordinate with or serve as primary contact for venues, vendors, and union leadership.
· Manage event production, transportation, security, and support services.
Logistics & On-Site Management
· Oversee registration, signage, transportation, staffing, and attendee services.
· Resolve operational issues during events.
Communications & Member Engagement
· Coordinate speaker logistics and event communications.
· Prepare post-event evaluations and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
· 5+ years managing conferences, conventions, or large-scale events.
· Strong project management, budgeting, and communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and event management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with labor unions, building trades experience is a plus, trade associations.
· Knowledge of union governance and delegate processes.
· CMP, PMP, or related certification preferred.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
