Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Department Manager to lead our electrical engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining complex electrical systems across various projects. This role demands a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles, industrial automation, and system integration. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Oversee the design and development of electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and system architectures using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and Electrical CAD software.
- Manage the integration of FPGA-based systems, SoC (System on Chip) components, and programmable logic controllers to optimize system performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for electrical system failures or malfunctions, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Supervise the development and verification of system designs utilizing MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVerilog, C++, Python, Perl, and scripting languages.
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70, and industrial automation safety protocols.
- Oversee manufacturing processes related to surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and PCB fabrication.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including mechanical engineers and software developers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Maintain documentation for electrical schematics, system designs, and troubleshooting procedures; facilitate training on new systems or updates.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives in electrical troubleshooting practices and system development workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
- Extensive experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment with a focus on electrical systems.
- Proficiency in FPGA design, PCB design (including surface mount technology), and schematic creation using AutoCAD Revit or MicroStation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes such as NEC and NFPA 70 compliance standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in system development verification using MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVerilog, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation components including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), firmware development, Arduino platforms, ARM microcontrollers, and vision inspection systems.
- Skilled in debugging complex electrical issues through tools like ohmmeters and oscilloscopes; capable of root cause analysis.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to electrical enclosure design and mechanical engineering principles.
- Excellent project scheduling skills coupled with leadership abilities to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly across diverse audiences.
