What You'll Bring:
- Minimum two years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant; sushi experience required.
- Expert knife skills and experience preparing sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, and sushi rice.
- Strong understanding of seafood handling, food safety, and sanitation.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and pride in presentation.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare high-quality sushi, sashimi, rolls, and specialty menu items.
- Maintain consistency, presentation, and portion standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Assist with inventory, product rotation, and minimizing waste.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen team members.
- Adapt to seasonal features and menu changes while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience through craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Two or more years of sushi preparation experience preferred.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
- ServSafe or Food Handler Certification required.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and temperatures exceeding 85°F.
- Available to work between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer and POS knowledge is a plus.
