Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring plastic manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products according to customer specifications and company standards. This position performs machine setup, material handling, quality checks, troubleshooting, and maintains a safe and clean work environment while meeting production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate plastic processing equipment including extruders, mixers, blenders, grinders, packaging equipment, and other production machinery.
- Set up, start, operate, and shut down machines according to production schedules and operating procedures.
- Load raw materials, additives, pigments, and other components into production equipment accurately.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Perform in-process quality checks including color, appearance, weight, dimensions, and other specifications.
- Identify and report defects, contamination, equipment issues, or production abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Complete production paperwork, batch records, inspection sheets, and documentation accurately.
- Perform material changes, cleaning, and basic machine adjustments as required.
- Maintain proper housekeeping standards in the production area following 5S practices.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe machine operation practices.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment problems and communicate issues promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of equipment.
- Package, label, and move finished products as required.
- Follow company policies, quality standards, and ISO procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
