Senior Project Engineer
Summary
The Senior Project Engineer leads key engineering projects focused on foundry process optimization, equipment upgrades, and technology integration within foundry and machining operations. This role requires strong technical and project management skills, a deep understanding of foundry systems, and the ability to drive continuous improvement aligned with company objectives.
Core Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold company safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Lead projects from concept through implementation, including scope, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Evaluate ROI on capital expenditures and identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness.
- Manage technical deliverables through design reviews, validation, and compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and drive process improvements.
- Assess and implement automation, new materials, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Support and justify capital expenditure requests with thorough data and cost analysis.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical growth and teamwork.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise engineers, technicians, or project teams. Responsibilities include training, delegating work, monitoring performance, and supporting continuous development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience, including project or supervisory responsibility
- Proven success managing budgets, timelines, and resources across multiple projects
- Experience with CAPEX/OPEX planning and financial reporting
- Strong proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management systems
- Foundry or heavy manufacturing experience preferred
- PMP certification or equivalent training desirable
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
- On-site in a foundry or industrial setting with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Occasional travel to suppliers, sister facilities, or industry events
