Join our dedicated team as a Substitute Early Childhood Center Bus Driver and play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable transportation of young children to and from our early childhood education programs. Duties
- Safely operate our school bus including following all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to emergency response procedures, vehicle codes, and child behavior management policies.
- Assist children with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and emergency responders
- Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected situations with defensive driving techniques and quick decision-making skills.
- Complete accurate reports on daily routes, incidents, or safety concerns; document any vehicle maintenance issues or behavioral incidents involving children.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license CDL Class C with a Passenger endorsement
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures related to passenger transportation.
- Demonstrated responsibility in following school policy guidelines and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude; ability to respond promptly to traffic changes or route adjustments.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
