Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Commercial Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of vehicles including dump trucks, tankers, and refrigerated trailers.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and tankers for the delivery of freight.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and deliveries.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving truck driving.
- Proficient in operating various types of commercial vehicles including refrigerated trailers and manual transmission trucks.
- Strong understanding of load unloading procedures and freight handling.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocols.
- Good communication skills for interaction with clients, dispatchers, and team members.
