As an underwriter for our Commercial Fleet Insurance team, you’ll be responsible for underwriting all major functions within our commercial lines underwriting unit. You’ll set premiums, perform extensive research, and communicate underwriting information to agents and insureds. Additionally, you’ll review, evaluate, and price business by applying sound underwriting judgement and adhering to company policies and state regulations. This is a remote position that may require travel 2–3 times per year.
Duties and responsibilities

Evaluate new and renewal business while understanding the components that drive price

Train and mentor underwriters on complex topics

Handle escalations, inquires and leadership reviews

Support underwriting consistency through calibration discussions

Assist with guideline updates, training and team communications

Partner on system issues and special projects as needed
Must-have qualifications
-
High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum seven years relevant commercial lines, insurance industry, and/or underwriting experience.

{OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum four years relevant commercial lines, insurance industry, and/or underwriting experience.
Preferred Skills
-
Two years of Commercial Auto UW experience, including broader coverage or package level review

Account level underwriting including multiple lines of business

Dedicated agency support

Experience working with an Underwriting Workbench platform
Compensation
-
$75,000 - $85,000 annually depending on experience

Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
