Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Fleet Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of approximately 60 company vehicles and pieces of equipment. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing minor mechanical issues, and helping keep our fleet safe, organized, and operating efficiently.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Experience working on construction equipment or heavy machinery is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including:
- Oil and filter changes
- Brake inspections and repairs
- Fluid checks and replacements
- Tire rotations and basic tire repairs
- Battery replacement and testing
- Diagnose and perform minor engine repairs and general mechanical work.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs before they become major repairs.
- Perform basic repairs on trailers, pumps, and light construction equipment.
- Coordinate outside vendors for major repairs when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area.
- Keep accurate maintenance records by logging repairs, services, and parts used into the company's computer system.
- Track scheduled maintenance intervals and help ensure the fleet remains compliant and road-ready.
- Assist with emergency vehicle repairs to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Experience as a fleet mechanic, automotive technician, diesel mechanic, or similar role preferred.
- Experience working on construction equipment or machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and repair common mechanical issues.
- Comfortable using computers and maintenance software to document repairs and track service history.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple vehicles requiring service.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver's license required. Commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
