American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 17-week Emergency Center travel assignment requiring 5+ years of experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and a valid GA or compact RN license.

Work setting is an acute care hospital Emergency Center with approximately 180–200 patient visits per day
-
Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, neuro, and orthopedic cases; facility is a designated CVA center
-
No burns are treated or held at this facility; some neuro trauma cases are transferred out
-
6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by psychiatry is part of the unit
-
Patient ratio is 1:4
-
Nurse aides and paramedics (5–6 per shift) are present each shift
-
Security personnel and safety sitters are available; behavioral health patients are held in the main ER until admitted
-
Central monitoring tech support available
-
Vented patients may be held in the ER until admitted; 24/7 respiratory therapy dedicated to the ER
-
In-department pharmacy coverage 11 hours per day with 24/7 on-campus pharmacy support

Nurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV starts
-
12-hour evening shifts, 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required

Every other holiday required

Charting system is MEDITECH 6.15; experience is required

Active GA or compact RN license required
-
Minimum 5 years of ED nursing experience required

At least 1 prior travel assignment required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ASLS), and CPI
-
MEDITECH experience required

Driver's license required for consideration

Orientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed within the first week of the assignment

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue only

Charge nurses are present on the unit
-
Time-off requests are only honored if submitted and approved prior to the start of the assignment

Holiday coverage is required on an every-other basis
