ATTENTION! Candidate MUST be able to work from our Camp Hill, PA studio. This is not a work-from-home position. Please consider this before applying. Only individuals within a reasonable commute of our Camp Hill, PA studios will be considered.
This position is performed Mon.-Thu. from Noon to 8 pm, and Saturdays Noon to 8 pm. (Hours approximate.) Candidate must be able to work from our Mechanicsburg, PA and Camp Hill, PA locations, but some work from home may be permitted. Hours may vary during the summer months and during performance periods. Paid time off during Academy/school breaks and holidays.
The chosen candidate will possess current knowledge of design and digital communication technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. Familiarity with web-design software like Wix or WordPress is required. The Candidate should have photography experience. Candidate must have an eye for design and page layout and be able to help the Academy leverage social media communication and digital marketing. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., public relations, communications) are highly preferred, but individuals with some college, technical/design training, and/or demonstrated experience in the field will be considered. Prior experience in education, the arts, ballet/dance instruction, and/or in a school setting would be a benefit but is not mandatory.
Working collaboratively with our founder, artistic directors, communications director and other staff, the chosen candidate will apply their technical, design, and visual communication skills to create and maintain the Academy's online presence. Specific duties include developing and maintaining Academy and other websites, blogs, electronic newsletters, social media channels/campaigns, and other digital media content; making timely, scheduled and ad hoc content posts (e.g., FB, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn); assisting in the identification of target audiences and determining the best way to present information to those audiences; editing digital images and designing/maintaining page layouts using electronic publishing software; writing, editing and posting digital content; employing online marketing and analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SEO); developing animated and/or video content; performing digital photography; producing traditional print media (e.g., flyers, brochures, programs); and assisting in the preparation of radio advertisements.
Pennsylvania Ballet Academy is a non-profit organization that exists to provide professional, classical ballet instruction that teaches students how to pursue their Passion, develop Belief in themselves, and help them discover the Artistry in dance.
