Overview
TownWell Veterinary Clinic is a full service clinic providing care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, exotics, small ruminants, and show 4-H/FFA animals. We do not see horses or cattle. No weekend hours! We have a special focus on canine reproduction, as well as small ruminant and backyard flock care.
Although we have just opened in March 2026, we have been extremely busy and are in need of a part-time receptionist! Looking for 2 days a week currently, with potential to move towards full time in the future.
Duties
- Greet clients and patients with warmth and hometown charm
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage daily calendars
- Check clients in/out and process payments accurately
- Maintain accurate medical records and update client information
- Communicate effectively with veterinary staff to support patient care
- Provide general information and support to clients
- Keep the front desk area organized and presentable
- From time to time, may be required to assist in holding animals for restraint and/or assisting veterinary technicians in assistant roles
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary clinic experience or animal husbandry background demonstrating familiarity with pet care needs
- Experience working as a veterinary receptionist or veterinary assistant in a clinical setting preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology a plus (training provided)
- Experience with front desk operations including client communication and appointment scheduling is a plus
- Ability to remain calm and professional during busy or emotional situations
- Familiarity with Shepherd veterinary software a plus (training provided)
- Reliable, positive, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, pet care, and laboratory testing
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
