We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Lead to support daily warehouse operations and provide hands-on leadership to a high-volume team. This individual will be responsible for coordinating workflow, supporting productivity and quality goals, maintaining a safe working environment, and providing real-time coaching and direction to associates.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience within a warehouse or distribution facility, strong people-management skills, and the ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- 2+ years of leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment facility.
- Demonstrated experience leading, directing, or supporting teams of approximately 15 or more employees.
- Experience working in a high-volume warehouse or fulfillment environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and people-management skills.
- Experience monitoring and managing productivity metrics, including Units Per Hour (UPH) or similar performance measures.
- Ability to provide real-time coaching, feedback, and performance guidance to team members.
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices and OSHA standards.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities and address day-to-day employee concerns professionally.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems and technology.
- Ability and willingness to take a hands-on approach and work alongside associates on the warehouse floor as business needs require.
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Experience working with material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- OSHA and/or CPR certification is preferred.
- Previous experience training or onboarding warehouse associates.
- Experience identifying operational bottlenecks and reallocating labor based on business volume and priorities.
Daily Operations & Task Allocation
- Coordinate daily workflow and assign associates to receiving, picking, packing, and shipping stations based on operational needs and shift volume.
- Monitor workflow throughout the shift and proactively reallocate labor to address bottlenecks and maintain productivity.
- Support the team in meeting established productivity, quality, and service-level expectations.
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to a team of approximately 15 or more associates.
- Train and support new hires on warehouse processes, equipment, WMS platforms, RF scanners, and applicable standard operating procedures.
- Monitor productivity metrics, including Units Per Hour (UPH), and provide timely, constructive feedback to employees.
- Coach team members on performance expectations and recognize opportunities for continued development.
- Address routine interpersonal or operational concerns and escalate more complex matters to management when appropriate.
Process Enforcement & Quality Control
- Ensure associates consistently follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct quality spot-checks on outbound orders and address identified discrepancies.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations to leadership.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to warehouse safety procedures and OSHA standards.
- Conduct start-of-shift safety huddles and reinforce appropriate PPE requirements.
- Ensure proper pre-use safety checks are completed for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE.
- Identify and promptly report safety hazards, incidents, or equipment concerns.
Communication & Management Support
- Serve as a key point of communication between front-line associates and warehouse supervisors/managers.
- Communicate shift priorities, productivity expectations, and operational changes clearly to the team.
- Promptly escalate system downtime, equipment failures, staffing shortages, safety concerns, or other issues that may impact operations.
- Partner with leadership to maintain an efficient, productive, and positive work environment.
Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$35,600 - $62,500
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
