Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with selecting meat and seafood products by providing product knowledge, preparation suggestions, and cooking recommendations.
- Cut, trim, portion, and prepare various meat products according to company standards and customer specifications.
- Package, label, and display products to ensure freshness, quality, and visual appeal.
- Maintain accurate pricing and product labeling in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures are followed to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, tools, display cases, and storage areas regularly.
- Monitor product quality and remove any items that do not meet freshness or quality standards.
- Restock service counters and display cases to maintain product availability throughout the day.
- Receive and rotate inventory using proper first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures.
- Operate meat department equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to workplace safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet department goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Address customer questions and concerns professionally to ensure a positive shopping experience and encourage repeat business.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a meat, seafood, grocery, or retail environment preferred.
- Knowledge of meat cuts, seafood products, and food safety practices is a plus.
- Ability to use knives and meat-processing equipment safely.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed
