The Senior, Vendor Onboarding Specialist – Temporary Housing is responsible for driving the execution, consistency, and performance of the Temporary Housing program within Contractor Connection. This role supports the full lifecycle of housing providers, including sourcing, onboarding, compliance validation, activation, and ongoing maintenance, with a strong emphasis on quality control, operational efficiency, and program adherence.
This position operates with a high degree of autonomy and serves as an advanced subject matter expert for the Temporary Housing program. The Senior, Vendor Onboarding Specialist acts as a functional lead, supporting Vendor Onboarding Specialist I, II, and III roles through guidance, mentorship, and escalation support, while partnering closely with leadership to address complex issues, improve processes, and support program performance.
- Identifies, sources, and engages prospective housing providers through outreach, referrals, and market research aligned with program needs
- Presents program requirements, expectations, and participation standards to providers and stakeholders
- Performs compliance review of housing providers and analyzes applications and supporting documentation to verify completeness, assess readiness, identify risks, and determine appropriate next steps prior to audit
- Manages the full onboarding lifecycle, including application processing, documentation collection, compliance review, and provider readiness
- Tracks onboarding pipelines and activation timelines to ensure timely progression and alignment with program demand and service expectations
- Maintains accurate provider records, contracts, and documentation across systems, ensuring data integrity and timely progression from recruitment through activation
- Supports ongoing provider maintenance, including compliance re-verification, documentation updates, and resolution of non-compliance issues
- Monitors provider to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Contributes to process improvement, documentation, reporting, and data analysis to support program growth and strategic decision-making
- Provides training support to less experienced team members to ensure understanding of processes and requirements
- Serves as a functional lead and escalation resource providing guidance and support on complex issues
- Handles escalated provider, onboarding, and compliance issues, determining appropriate resolution prior to Supervisor involvement when possible
- Performs quality assurance reviews to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to program standards across team outputs
- Supports leadership by identifying operational gaps, trends, and risks, and providing actionable recommendations
- Assists in coordinating workflow priorities and supporting team alignment to ensure timely and efficient processing
- Coordinates and leads the development and delivery of training materials, documentation, and presentations; serves as a subject matter expert of program operations and systems to ensure consistency across the program
- Serves as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on program requirements
- Participates in special projects, cross-functional initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and performs duties in other areas as requested.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 5 years’ experience in compliance or process-oriented work with a proven track record of taking on expanded responsibilities, including informal or formal team leadership
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and web-based systems
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, vendor management, or program coordination preferred
- Advanced organizational and documentation management skills in a compliance-driven environment
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review, validate, and audit documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to identify trends and recommend solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage internal stakeholders and external partners
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Proven ability to multi-task and maintain detailed, accurate records
- Adaptability to evolving processes, systems, and program development
